Trondheim - Rørvik

On reprend le cours normal du voyage, après la petite interruption de Noël. Départ de Trondheim vers midi, il fait toujours froid (-12°C), mais par contre c'est très nuageux, et ça commence à nous embêter, parce que demain on passe le cercle polaire, c'est à dire qu'on va entrer au pays des aurores boréales, mais si c'est couvert, on ne voit rien...

We're back on normal schedule after the Christmas interruption. We leave Trondheim at noon, it's still quite cold (-12°C) and in addition very cloudy, and it's worrying us a bit, because tomorrow we arriver above the Polar Circle, so in Northern Lights country, and if the sky is cloudy, you see nothing.



Changement d'ambiance donc avec ce temps gris, mais ça reste vraiment magique, toujours les fumées sur la mer. Des bancs de brumes sortent des fjords, c'est très bizarre. Pour couronner le jour de Noël on aura droit à un coucher de soleil de fin du monde avec flammes derrière les montagnes, et une barre jaune puis rouge puis orangée qui se prolongera bien après la disparition du soleil (14h38, officiellement). On a même encore un peu de lumière sur le phare de Kjeungskjaer, un des bâtiments emblématiques du voyage.

Very different atmosphere then with this grey weather, but it's still pretty magical, with the smoke over the sea. Fog rivers are coming out of the fjords, it's very weird. To crown our Christmas day we have an end-of-the-world sunset with flames behind the mountains, and a yellow and red and orange horizon which lingers on well after the sunset (2.38pm officially). There is still some light as we pass the Kjeungskjaer lighthouse, one of the beacons of the trip.




Comme c'est encore Noël, c'est encore le buffet de Noël, les chants et le sapin, mais c'est toujours pas obligé. A Rørvik où on arrive bien en retard (21h15 au lieu de 20h30), le M/S Trollfjord est à quai. Plus tard dans la nuit, des petits phares partout, des rochers enneigés vraiment pas loin, des tours et des détours... Impressionnant, même dans le noir.

As it is still Christmas, we still have the festive buffet, the singing and the tree, but you still don't have to do it. At Rørvik, where we call in late (9.15 instead of 8.30), we are docked with MS Trollfjord. Later in the night, small lighthouses everywhere, snowy rocks seeming really close,  twists and turns... Impressive, even in the dark.
