I wake up at 7.30, after a very bumpy night, but it's a bit better this morning. At 9 we visit of the bridge, and then we already have a busy routine for the sea days : conferences, observation lounge, birdwatching on the outside decks, lunch, nap.... During the first day we also have to thoroughly vacuum all the folds, straps and pockets of the clothes and bags we mean to bring ashore in South Georgia, to avoid accidental importation of dirt, seeds or small insects. We also have to sign a "responsible visitor agreement", stating that we will do everything we can to avoid importation and transportation of foreign organisms (we will clean our boots every landing, wash the bottom of our pants, etc etc). I go to dinner tonight, there are still people missing but the ship is rocking a lot less. And my camera seems to be recovering, what a relief (the screen still looked funny for days, but eventually it became normal again). We are eastbound, tonight we set our watches one hour forward.
