Leaving Ushuaia behind, we go down the Beagle Channel, with a very nice weather. It's sunny, with still a bit of tailwind, but it's very agreeable to stay outside, and we do that before and after dinner, enjoying the view and the pleasure to be back on board. We meet some other ships, military vessels, expedition cruise ships (the Ocean Diamond, waiting for the mandatory pilot, the Plancius) and also smaller sailboats. After the sun has set, we go to the observation lounge for the welcome cocktail. The captain introduces the main crew members, and also the members of the expedition team. They will guide us during the trip (and "conference" us to death during the sea day, as Anja, the expedition leader, explains us). This is our first trip with Anja, but among the expedition team there are a few familiar faces. We go to bed around midnight, pretty tired.

J'aime bien ces ciels tourmentés : le vent...le départ...
J'imagine l'excitation du départ, le visage fouetté par le vent sur le pont avant, en route vers l'Antarctique...
