We have a bit more time today (and a bit more light!) to discover the ship. She is a weird ship. The whole rear area (cabins and lounge) has been added after the construction and circulation between the spaces is not easy. The decoration is a bit dated and MS Vesteraalen looks slightly "old-fashioned". But in spite of its quicrkiness (maybe because of it?), I take an immediate liking to the ship and can well imagine a longer trip onboard. I particularly enjoy the huge outside decks (now that the snow has melted, it's possible to walk on them), which must be great for Northern Lights watching, and the panorama lounge at the top of the ship, open on the mountains and the sky.

Mixed weather this morning but still nice lights on the mountains. The highlight of the day for me is the passing of MS Nordstjernen. She is the "old lady" of the fleet (1956) and she is doing her very last trip as a Hurtigruten ship. Not an ordinary ship then, and not an ordinary meeting. I am quite happy to be able to participate, even so slightly, to this goodbye trip (and I'm a bit sad... Such a magnificient ship).

We cross the Arctic Circle a bit later, guarded by the Horseman (Hestmanoy), the first hero in this day of Nordic legends.

Once again we will not have the second chapter of the Book of Legend... After the stop in  Sandnessjøen the weather becomes very wet and foggy and we will not see the Seven Sisters (not even their feet!). And the last pictures of the trip will be in the rain in Brønnøysund.
