MS Kong Harald has the same deck layout as the other ships from this generation (also the same as MS Nordlys) but has a different decoration. As a whole I find it a bit dark and sad, but I have a huge crush on the stained glass ceilings above the cafeteria on deck 4, with names of famous Norwegian polar explorers and their most famous ships.

As mentioned previously, MS Kong Harald has suffered in last week's storm, and there still are metal panels on the front deck 5 cabins on starboard side, where probably the wave has damaged the windows.

And we are gone, bye Kong Harald, bye Trondheim!

This is often the time for the crew's security exercise, and the lifeboats are lowered in the water. From the bridge, under the sun and with a very still sea, it is interesting to watch, but I hope I will never have to see them any closer in more stressful conditions!

The ships are permanently maintained during the trips, they don't have a lot of "off" days during the year, except sometimes a round trip-length during winter. Today, a crew member is doing some repair work on one of the complicated winch mechanisms on the front deck.

Let me give you a short tour of the outside decks in this very nice weather. Here, the huge solarium on deck 7 (high up).

From the rear of deck 7, a peek downstairs to the small platform on deck 6, and below the rear of deck 5.

And this is the spot at the rear of deck 5 where I have spent a lot of time! This outside deck wraps around the whole ship so you can use it to see in all directions, it goes in front of the cabin windows (including ours) and at the front of the ship under the commanding bridge.

Until the end of the Trondheimfjord, it is still a familiar landscape for me, as it is the same route than on the Northbound leg.
